About PDF to EPUB Converter
Reading a PDF on a 6-inch e-reader is miserable. The page doesn't reflow, and headers, footers and page numbers end up in the middle of sentences. We build PDF to EPUB Converter to fix exactly that. It also handles MOBI, Word, plain text, CBZ comics and saved web pages.
Under the hood
Conversion happens on your device. We read PDFs with Mozilla's open-source PDF.js and Word files with Mammoth, and ZIP handling uses fflate. Full licence notices are in /third-party-notices.txt. Our test conversions are checked with EPUBCheck, the W3C's EPUB validator. The aim is a clean EPUB that Kobo, Apple Books, Send to Kindle and most reading apps will open.
Honest limits
- Scanned PDFs need text recognition (OCR), and we don't offer that yet. A scanned-book plan is planned, but it has no date and nothing is charged.
- DRM-protected books are refused. We don't remove protection.
- Very long PDFs (over 400 pages) need to be split first.
