Website to EPUB
Paste an article or drop saved .html pages and get an EPUB with menus, ads and scripts removed. This page cannot fetch a web address for you; the section below explains why.
Web addresses are not fetched; pictures that live at web addresses are left out.
Get it on your reader
- USB. Connect the reader, open its storage and copy the .epub file into its books folder.
- Email or app. Many readers have a send-to-device email address or app that accepts EPUB. Use your reader maker’s help page for the address.
- DRM-free only. Small readers and many apps cannot open protected books. This file has no protection added.
- Next.Make it smaller, pull out the text, convert a MOBI, or read the notes for common readers.
Why this page cannot fetch a web address
- Save the page. In your browser choose File, Save Page As, and pick “Webpage, HTML only” (or “Complete” if you want pictures). Or select the article text and copy it.
- Add it here. Paste the text or HTML into the box, or drop the saved .html files. Drop the picture files too if you saved the page as “Complete”.
- Check title and author. They are taken from the page and can be edited.
- Convert and download. Each page becomes a chapter, with a contents list.
A web page in your browser is not allowed to read another site’s content: browsers block it (the rule is called cross-origin protection), and this site does not fetch pages on a server for you either, because that would mean sending your reading list to a server. So you bring the page to the converter, either as a saved file or as pasted text.
What the cleanup removes and keeps
- Removed: scripts, styles, forms, menus, headers and footers of the site, sidebars, cookie banners, share buttons, comment sections and link lists that look like navigation.
- Kept: the article’s headings, paragraphs, lists, quotes, tables, links and pictures.
- Pictures: a picture is kept when it is embedded in the page (a data: address) or when you also drop the picture file. Web addresses of pictures are not fetched; they are left out and counted.
Several articles in one book
Add as many pages or pasted texts as you like. Each becomes a chapter, in the order listed, and the book has a table of contents. The first article’s title is used for a single-article book; otherwise you name the book.
Only for pages you may keep
Save and convert pages you have the right to keep for personal reading, and respect the site’s terms. A paywalled article that you can read is still not yours to redistribute.
