Copyright and DMCA

This site does not host a library of books. If you believe something on it infringes your copyright, send a notice to support@pdftoepub.site and we will act on it.

What this site is

This site converts files that a visitor opens in their own browser, and sells text recognition (OCR) for scanned books. There is no public library, no gallery and no page where one visitor can see another visitor’s file. Free conversions happen on the visitor’s device. A file sent for OCR is read once and is not stored, as the privacy page describes. The terms of use ask visitors to convert only files they own or otherwise have the right to convert, and the converters refuse files that are protected by DRM.

Sending a notice

Send a written notice to support@pdftoepub.site with the subject “Copyright notice”. To be actionable it should include:

  • your physical or electronic signature;
  • identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed;
  • the exact URL on this site of the material you say is infringing, with enough detail for us to find it;
  • your name, address, telephone number and email address;
  • a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
  • a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or are authorised to act for the owner;
  • a statement that you consent to service of process from the person who provided the material, or from that person’s agent.

What happens next

We acknowledge a complete notice within five working days. If it identifies material we control and the claim is properly made, we remove or disable that material, and we tell the person who supplied it where we can. Incomplete notices are answered with a request for the missing parts. Accounts or access codes used repeatedly to infringe are refused, and the site may block a network address that keeps sending infringing scans.

Counter-notice

If material of yours was removed and you believe that was a mistake, send a counter-notice to support@pdftoepub.site with your signature, a description of what was removed and where it was, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe it was removed by mistake or misidentification, and your name, address and telephone number together with a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of a court for your address. We may restore the material ten to fourteen working days after a valid counter-notice unless the original complainant tells us they have filed an action.

Who receives notices

This site is run by a small team rather than a large platform. We have not registered a designated agent with the U.S. Copyright Office, but notices sent to support@pdftoepub.site are read by the person responsible for the site, and every notice gets a reply.
